Marketing Major
Together, technological advances and globalization make the field of marketing– the activities involved in directing the flow of goods and services from producers to consumers– exciting and challenging.
The marketing major is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers. As a complement to the basic major, students may pursue specializations in advertising and marketing management. Additionally, within the marketing management specialization, students can develop customized specializations, such as automotive marketing, international marketing, personal selling and sales management, and retailing.
Courses focus on market systems and strategy, methods of gathering and analyzing data, consumer and organizational buyer behavior, international marketing, advertising principles, the purchasing function and a number of other areas.
